President Buhari afraid to sign 2016 budget.

The Presidency yesterday said that President
Muhammadu Buhari will not be able to sign the
2016 appropriation bill into law.
It was gathered that the inability of the president
to assent to the document is because of the failure
of the National Assembly to send details of the
budget as passed by both chambers last week.

Foods you should not eat.

Well food is essential for life and health. But surprisingly people have various reasons for eating as such defeating its original purpose.

When you are trying to get healthy and lose weight,
there are certain foods you should avoid. Most of these
food are obvious because they contain ingredients
known to cause weight gain. There are some foods not
as obvious and can be just as bad for you. These foods
are a problem because most people do not know how
to avoid them and therefore consume them more often
than they should. Here are five such foods you should
never eat again.

White bread

White bread is a local staple but the truth is, it
doesn’t have any nutritional value. It contains a lot of
sugar and isn’t as filling as desired.
Substitute your white bread for whole grain or whole
wheat bread when possible. Also substitute bread on
your sandwiches with lettuce leaves or whole grain
tortillas.

Fried Foods

Many people only associate fried food with fast food
restaurants and do not realize they also consume them
at home. Avoid frying any meal, consider baking or
broiling instead. Fried foods are not nutritious and can
cause blood pressure and cholesterol levels to rise.
They can also cause you to gain weight needlessly.
Cream-based salad dressings
Salads can be very nutritious but can become unhealthy
when covered in cream-based dressings that contain a
lot of fat and calories. There can be more calories in
your salad dressing than in the rest of your entire
salad.
Try oil-based salad dressings instead. They taste
lighter, and have less calories.

White rice

Rice is a common staple but the truth is, white rice
can cause your body to store fat when it doesn’t need to. It also has no nutritional value. Local rice
(Abakaliki) and brown rice is the best option because
it is full of fibre, vitamins and nutrients. It will also
keep you satisfied longer so you are less likely to overeat.

High fructose corn syrup

High fructose corn syrup can quickly cause you to gain
weight and even make you have cravings for more
sugar and sugary foods. Overeating sugary foods and
foods that are high in fructose corn syrup can even lead
to diabetes and other health problems. Avoid
processed sugars and opt for fresh fruits and berries.

Happy eating and eat to stay healthy.

The Oldest living Animal found in Nigeria.

Nigeria is at it again as Alagba, a giant male land tortoise believed to be 330 years
is still alive at the palace of Ogbomoso King in Oyo State.
The legendary tortoise who lumbers about in the palace is
popularly called “the elderly one”.
Since Alagba is believed to be older than everyone in Ogbomoso, permutations about its true age
relies heavily on oral history. Its present age was arrived at
by situating it with the period of the Soun who reigned then. Alagba was allegedly brought to the
palace by Soun Ikumoyede Ajao,
the third Soun of Ogbomoso, who is believed to have been
born sometime in the late 16th century and who reigned in the 17th.
Mr. Ajamu Oluwatoyin, the secretary of the current Soun says
dating of the kingship of Ogbomoso was started by the elite in 1797 during the reign of Oba Toyeje Akanni (1797 to 1825),
the fourth Soun and one time Are Ona Kakanfo (the Yoruba
Nation Generalissimo).
Tourism is never complete in Oyo State without visiting
the ancient giant male land tortoise.
It is a taboo to call Alagba a mere tortoise in Ogbomoso land in Oyo state Nigeria.

Our Primaries will be free and fair says Edo PDP

It is no longer news that the gubernatorial election will be held in Edo state in September. Ahead of the September governorship election in Edo State, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Chris Nehikhare, has assured people of the state of the resolve of the
party to organise free, fair and transparent primaries to select a credible and acceptable
candidate.
He re-emphasized the party’s position on campaigns and used the opportunity to respond to
a media aide of one of All Progressives Congress,
APC’s governorship aspirants, saying that it was
Governor Adams Oshiomhole that introduced hate
campaigns into Edo politics.
Nehikhare, who spoke in Benin, when he received
members of Gatekeepers, an Independent Political
Action Group, who visited the party’s secretariat,
said that the aide to APC governorship aspirant
should know that Edo people have also resolved not
to support or vote “strangers” as their governor
after their experience in the hands of Oshiomhole.

MTN must pay fine in full says House of Representatives.

The battle between MTN and the lawmakers seems not to have ended as Members of the House of Representatives have stated
that the down-payment of N50 billion by MTN towards an
out-of-court settlement of its N1.04 trillion fine is inadequate.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) slapped
the N1.04 trillion fine on MTN last October, but later
reduced it to N780 billion and gave the network provider
till December 31, 2015 to pay up after the company had
pleaded for leniency.

It was a joyous occasion though the Ooni was absent On Saturday, when the new Ooni of Ife – Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi married a new wife…

Shocker! A man on Wheel chair robs a bank.

Wonders they say shall never cease as a 35-year-old disabled Croatian man shocked employees
in a bank on Wednesday, March 9, after passers-by aided
his entrance into the premises.
According to Daily Star, the man entered in a wheelchair
was said to be shouting “I have a bomb!” and
the employees in a branch of Austria’s Erste Bank in
downtown Zagreb, were shocked during the incident.
And because of the false alarm, the employees were
forced to hand over their cash, only a few seconds after
he had politely thanked passers-by for helping him to
enter the bank in his wheelchair.
After robbing the bank of about $7,300 (N2.3m), the
robber wheeled himself to a nearby taxi station where a
cab driver helped him get into the car and put his
wheelchair in the trunk.
The man was eventually arrested at the northern town of
Bjelovar after being driven towards that area by the taxi
driver.

Rules of Change Part-5 (Steps of Change).

I am glad you have been blessed having been following the Rules of Change Series. Always have it in mind that your life is a reality series and not a movie. Another fact i want you to have in mind is that you are the main focus not someone else. So you see why failure is not an option, now you see why poverty is not an option, now you see why An average life is not an option.

This week we shall be looking at steps of Change; so irrespective of the changes you want and have prayed to God about it, you must be ready to take a step. You must learn to take a move or else you will be removed you can never learn while in stagnant position. Here is a story we are familiar with which is the story of the prodigal son he wanted to move as we see in
Luke  15:12 "And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.  15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living."
He did want anyone who desperately want change should do but he missed it because he didn't do it calculatively. What i want you to see here is that it is not all about taking steps or risks but calculated steps or risks so you don't crash.

When I say take steps it is not all about movement all the time. But the truth is something must be done. Now  when there was famine Abraham had to go to Egypt as we see in  Genesis 12:10 but you will notice Isaac was about to also make a move to Egypt ( Genesis  26:2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: ) but God told him to remain. Please dear get this straight he didn't just remain because he heard from God to remain but Isaac sowed( Genesis  26:12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him). It was in that sowing that God blessed him.

Lastly I want you to know as you have realize yourself it will be useless if you don't take a step. The prodigal son when he realized himself went to his father but i want you to see the benefits of divine movements here because if he claimed to have taken his portion initially, where did the fat calf that was killed, ring that was put in his hand, best of clothes that was worn by him, where did they come from? You see you have all to gain, if this son who moved out of the will of his father could still be acknowledged then you have to stop thinking what if you fail and start thinking what if you succeed. Just move with God looking up to Jesus Christ as your source(Psalm 121). God bless you!

Always remember you have to be a Life Finder(in Jesus Christ) to be a Life Giver(to your World).

“We will go for them in their hideouts. People caught will
be handed over to the police and NDLEA for necessary
actions. They are disturbing the peace of our community.
They are criminals who should not be tolerated in any
decent community.”

Onigbongbo for their support to the youths of the
community in fighting drug users and cultists.

No BVN No Salaries.

It seems the issues concerning the acceptance by Nigeria citizens in obtaining their bank verification codes is becoming more successful as Kwara Government says any worker that failed to submit
his/her Bank Verification Number (BVN) within seven days
will not receive salary.
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed stated this during a meeting of
the Committee on Personnel Database Development in
Ilorin on Tuesday.
He said government has no intention of withholding any
worker’s salary without justification.
The governor also said affected workers and pensioners will
be credited with their salaries and pensions but will not be
able to access the money until they obtain BVN.
Ahmed, who is also Chairman of the committee, explained
that the unique bank numbers were necessary for
preliminary verification of workers and pensioners on the
state and local government councils’ payrolls.
He noted that at this stage of the verification, those
without valid BVN could not yet be designated as ghost
workers.
Ahmed said the intention of the database was to give
government accurate picture of state and councils’ payrolls
and ensure that those properly employed received salaries/
pensions.
Alternate Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Isiaka Gold,
said only 49, 579 out of the 82, 642 workers so screened,
had valid BVN.
He added that 124 workers were so far discovered to have
fake BVN.
He said that the first level verification also revealed 324
individuals who were linked to 659 multiple accounts.
Gold, who is also the Secretary to the State Government,
urged workers and pensioners yet to submit their BVN to do
so within seven days or risk having their payments
withheld.
He called on workers who were properly recruited by the
state and local governments to remain calm, assuring that
ongoing verification will not affect their salaries and jobs.
With these actions if other states could emulate this then the more people would have no choice but to accept it.

NNPC shuts down Headquarters.

In expressing their grievances the  oil workers embarked on a full-scale industrial action,
which led to the shutdown of the corporate headquarters of
the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in Abuja as
well product depots, mega filling stations and other critical
facilities. This made the scarcity of petrol to worsen on Wednesday.
The workers, under the aegis of the Petroleum and Natural
Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and the Nigerian
Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, who gathered
at the corporation’s headquarters early in the morning, shut
the NNPC in protest against the restructuring of the
national oil firm by the Federal Government and
immediately embarked on a nationwide industrial action.
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe
Kachikwu, had on Tuesday evening announced that President
Muhammadu Buhari had approved the restructuring of the
NNPC into seven new divisions, comprising 20 subsidiaries.

A ghostlike Octopus have been found.

Most persons don't believe in ghost but surprisingly a sea animal(Octopus) have likened to one.An underwater research craft has spotted a "ghostlike" octopus that appears to belong to a
previously unknown species on the ocean floor near Hawaii,
a discovery that highlights how little is known about the
deep sea, a U.S. zoologist said on Saturday.
The milky white creature, nicknamed "Casper the Friendly
Ghost" by Twitter users, was caught on cameras mounted on
the craft as it explored the Pacific Ocean at a depth of
4,290 meters, or about 2-1/2 miles, the National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration said.
Describing the animal as an incirrate octopod, one of two
main groupings of octopods, NOAA said it was the first
time an incirrate was spotted so deep in the ocean.
"This animal was particularly unusual because it lacked the
pigment cells, called chromatophores, typical of most
cephalopods, and it did not seem very muscular," said
Michael Vecchione, a research zoologist at NOAA's National
Marine Fisheries Service. Cephalopods belong to a biological
class that includes octopuses, squid and cuttlefish.
"The deep sea is so poorly known that finding new or
unexpected things happens fairly often," Vecchione said in
an email, adding that he was excited by the images. "What
is unusual is the opportunity to explore this deep."
The octopod "almost certainly" was one of a species never
previously described by scientists, and it may well belong to
a genus that has yet to be identified, wrote Vecchione,
who is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution in
Washington, D.C.
To be certain, he said in the email, scientists would need
at least one specimen, and preferably several of them.
NOAA has posted a video on the website showing a pale,
rounded form with expressionless eyes and languid tentacles
resting on the ocean floor. Its appearance led some Twitter
users to say it resembled the cartoon character Casper the
Friendly Ghost.
Last week's discovery came during the first dive of the
2016 season from the Okeanos Explorer, a ship operated by
NOAA that explores little-known parts of the oceans.
The remotely operated underwater vehicle Deep Discoverer
came across the octopod near Necker Island, or
Mokumanamana, on the northwestern end of the Hawaiian
Archipelago.

Clinton says she can beat Donald Trump in Michigan Debate

We all are aware of the heat going on in the presidential race. Two Democratic presidential contenders Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton sparred in a debate on Sunday over who had the best chance to beat Republican
front-runner Donald Trump, and mocked the level of
discourse in the Republican White House race.
Near the end of a Michigan debate that featured sharp
clashes over trade and the auto industry bailout, as well as a
lengthy discussion of religion, Clinton and Sanders both said
they could not wait to face the brash billionaire in the Nov.
8 election to succeed Democratic President Barack Obama.
"I think Donald Trump's bigotry, his bullying, his bluster, are
not going to wear well on the American people," Clinton
said. "We have to end the divisiveness, we have to unify
the country."
Sanders said he would "love" to run against Trump and
noted many opinion polls showed him faring better against
him than Clinton did. He and Clinton urged voters to
compare the substance of their debate with the Republican
versions, which last week featured name-calling and Trump
defending his penis size.
"We are, if elected president, going to invest a lot of
money in mental health," Sanders said, then cracked a joke.
"And when you watch these Republican debates, you know
why we need to invest in mental health."
Trump frequently says he will beat either Clinton or
Sanders. "I am the one person that she does not want to
run against," he said of Clinton on Saturday.
The debate in Flint, which is suffering a water
contamination and public health crisis, came as Sanders has
struggled to slow Clinton's march to the presidential
nomination. Sanders picked up some good news on Sunday
with a projected win in Maine's caucus.
Clinton, 68, a former secretary of state and first lady, has
spoken on the campaign trail of the need for more love and
kindness, a contrast to Trump's rhetoric about his plans to
deport illegal immigrants and temporarily bar Muslims from
entering the country.
"I don't intend to get into the gutter with whoever they
nominate, but instead to lift our sights," Clinton said in
the debate.
Describing herself as a "praying person," she said it was
hard to imagine living under the pressure of the White
House "without being able to fall back on prayer and on my
faith."
Sanders, asked if he was deliberately keeping his Jewish
faith in the background on the campaign trail, said his
father's family was wiped out in the Holocaust. He
described going shopping with his mother as a boy in
Brooklyn, New York, and seeing people with numbers on
their arms from Nazi concentration camps.
"I am very proud of being Jewish, and that is an essential
part of who I am as a human being," Sanders said.
'DISASTROUS' TRADE POLICIES
Earlier, the two candidates exchanged angry jabs over trade,
with Sanders accusing Clinton of backing "disastrous" trade
policies that moved manufacturing jobs out of cities like
Flint and Detroit and shifted them overseas.
But Clinton said Sanders' opposition to the 2009 auto
bailout, a crucial issue in a state that is home to the U.S.
auto industry, would have cost millions of jobs. The bailout,
which Clinton supported, passed Congress and has been
credited with helping save the U.S. industry.
Sanders, 74 a U.S. senator from Vermont and democratic
socialist, also questioned the sincerity of Clinton's
conversion to opposing the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a
proposed 12-nation Pacific Rim trade deal.
The two contenders cut each other off on several occasions,
a rare occurrence in a race that has been much more polite
than the raucous Republican presidential campaign.
"Excuse me, I'm talking," Sanders said to Clinton when she
tried to interrupt. "If you're going to talk, tell the whole
story," Clinton responded.
Sanders pressed his charge that Clinton was too close to
Wall Street and demanded again that she release the
transcript of paid speeches she has given to Wall Street

Lovely Okojie, former wife of Odianosen Okojie
(Mercy Johnson’s husband), is yet to recover from
the heartbreak that saw the father of her two children move on with very popular Actress, Mercy
Johnson.
“She is still bitter. She felt betrayed. She is not thinking of another marriage now. She is yet to

Life is full of ups and downs. I have accepted my fate. The children are doing fine. I thank God for
them. ”Lovely came to public consciousness when she

In response to the saddened experience which took place on Sunday the Nigerian President;Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday expressed shock and sadness over the death of its Minister of State for Labour, Mr. James Ocholi (SAN), who
together with his wife and son was killed in a car crash on Sunday.

lost a distinguished and irreplaceable son.
He prayed that God would comfort them and grant
them the grace to bear the loss.
“The entire country mourns the loss of this great

RULES OF CHANGE PART - 4 (PRAYER FOR CHANGE)

Welcome to our weekly write up on the RULES OF CHANGE series.Today we are looking at PRAYERS  FOR CHANGE. We thank God for your lives and also i would want to acknowledge those who have been commenting  on His faithfulness having been following the other Rules of Change, now there is a factor which we can not neglect which is prayers though most persons don't want to hear it because they believe so much in the natural. Prayers is the stamp to whatever Change you what in your life, it is the hammer you need to drive that nail of of change in your life.Your part in this is easy just to identify the areas you need change desperately looking at 1 Chronicles  4:9 "And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.  4:10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."
You will realize that Jabez knew the areas he wanted change desperately and he didn't start complaining or cry over the areas but what did he do? He cried to the One (God)who doesn't Change but takes delight in Changing the stories of people and their lives. So it is not enough to pray to God for change in your life but what aspect of your life do you want Him to change, Please don't think you know, think and ask yourself what do you really want? More so it is not enough to say to God that you don't like your behaviour must you be the one who will always come to God all the time confessing that constant sin;which Satan is happy about because he will constantly use it as a tool to deprive you from accomplishing God's giving purpose in your life.

Until you get to the point of Enough is Enough believe me you won't think of a fervent prayer(James 5:16). So it is pride not to pray because according to John  16:24 "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full." (Mark 11:24, John 15:16,Matthew 7:7-8). So if He said ask and you keep thinking you have to work harder or you keep meeting your psychologist for your rehabilitation without praying is pride because unknowingly you are ignoring God concerning that Change you need.

I want you to understand that once you start praying you may not see change automatically because there is another factor which is FAITH; It is according to your faith(Luke 8:48) but one thing is sure which He has heard you and changes have started already and before you know it the world will see the new you. Don't give up on that negative addiction, don't give up on that friend, spouse, boss  including yourself you want changed positively because as you keep praying and sowing seeds towards that change, seeds? Yes! You can give to God sacrificially also but make sure you send the seed a message by telling God why you have sown. Never forget it is not over until you win.

Always remember you must be a life finder(in Jesus Christ) to be a life giver(to your world).

Ben Carson bows out of Presidential race.

Ben Carson has decided to suspend his bid for the presidency, the retired neurosurgeon announced Friday, speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in NationalHarbor, Maryland.
"Even though I might be leaving the campaign trail, you know there’s a lot of people who love me, they
just won’t vote for me. But I will still continue to be heavily
involved in trying to save our nation," he said.
The outgoing candidate peppered his speech with implicit warnings to the country about its future, both for fellow candidates and for the media, which intensely
scrutinized claims about his biography throughout the
course of his campaign.
“You don’t need to have much of a developed brain to react, to react in fear," Carson said in urging a more thoughtful, productive national political discourse.
"Animals can do that; lizards do that.”
Ben Carson further appealed to the audience to get active and informed.
“We cannot continue to allow ourselves to be influenced
and molded by the political class and by the media. That
is going to destroy us," he said, remarking that it's "kind
of sad" that the press is the only business protected by
the Constitution "because they were supposed to be the
allies of the people."
Ben Carson made his exit known from the race on Wednesday
following a string of dismal performances in primaries
and caucuses, in his statement that he saw no path
to claim the Republican nomination.
"I do not see a political path forward in light of last
evening’s Super Tuesday primary results," Carson said in
the statement released Wednesday, a day before he skipped the 11th Republican debate in his hometown of Detroit.
The following day, he danced around whether he was
formally leaving the race. “I want people to start thinking about the real issues that are threatening
America right now; those issues are not how big someone’s hands are, or how long someone’s nose is,"
Earlier on Friday, it was announced that Ben Carson will serve as national chairman of My Faith Votes, a group focused on Christian voter turnout.
We wish you all the best.

Latest Ranking of The Billionaires- Mark Zuckerberg had the best of Year.

The List of the World's top billionairs seems constant as President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, retained his position as Africa’s richest
person and was listed as the 51st richest person in
the world in the Forbes 2016 World’s Billionaires
list released on Tuesday.
Dangote’s net worth, according to the magazine,
has risen to $15.4bn from $14.7bn in 2015. He was
ranked 67th in the 2015 list.
The 2016 list, which contains 1,810 billionaires in
dollar terms, also has four other Nigerians apart
from Dangote.
These are the Chairman of Globacom, Dr. Mike
Adenuga; Chairman of Forte Oil, Mr. Femi Otedola;
Founder and Executive Chairman, Famfa Oil
Limited, Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija; and Chairman/
Chief Executive Officer, BUA Group, Abdulsamad
Rabiu.
Adenuga, whose net worth was put at $10bn, was
ranked 103rd on the global list; while Otedola, with
a net worth of $1.8bn, was ranked 1,011th.
Alakija, estimated to be worth $1.6bn, came in
the 1,121st position, while Rabiu was ranked the
1,577th billionaire in the world, with a net worth
of $1.1bn.
The five were on the Forbes 2015 World’s
Billionaire list.
However, Dangote, Adenuga, Otedola and Rabiu
moved up on the 2016 list, while Alakija dropped
down.
Dangote, Adenuga, Otedola and Rabiu emerged
51st, 103rd, 1,011th and 1,577th in this year’s list,
from 67th, 393rd; 1,741st and 1,741st, respectively
in 2015.
Alakija, who was ranked 949th last year, was listed
in the 1,121st position this year.
Despite the economic crisis in Nigeria, the five billionaires are said to have increased their net
fortunes by $7bn (N1.4tn). They had a combined net worth of $29.9bn this year, down from $22.9bn the year before.
In the Forbes 2015 World’s Billionaires list, the
fortunes of Dangote, Adenuga and Alakija were put
at $14.7bn, $4.2bn and $2bn, respectively, while
Otedola and Rabiu had a net worth of $1bn each.
Although the Nigerian billionaires had their fortunes increased, the situation was not totally the same globally.
According to Forbes, volatile stock markets, falling
oil prices and a stronger dollar led to a dynamic
reshuffling of wealth around the globe, and a drop
in 10-figure fortunes for the first time since 2009.
For the 30th annual guide to the world’s richest,
Forbes found 1,810 billionaires, down from a record 1,826 a year ago.
Forbes said the aggregate net worth was $6.48tn,
which is $570bn less than that of last year.
It was also the first time since 2010 that the
average net worth of a billionaire dropped – it is
now $3.6bn, $300m less than last year, it said.
Behind these figures is a story of huge upheaval, as
221 people fell off the list, while 198 newcomers
joined the ranks; another 29 people from 2015
died, while 29 who had previously fallen off
climbed back on. Of those who were billionaires
both years, 892 are poorer, while 501 added to
their fortunes.
The reshuffling starts at the top. Only two people
in the top 20 managed to hold on to their ranks.
Bill Gates remains the richest person in the world
with a net worth of $75bn, despite being $4.2bn
poorer than a year ago.
He has been No. 1 one for three years in a row and
topped the list 17 out of 22 years. In the 30 years
Forbes has tracked global wealth, only five people
have held the title of the richest person on planet;
three of those still rank among the four richest in
the world, including Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim.
Holding steady is Buffett at No. 3. Zara’s Amancio
Ortega moves up to No. 2 for the first time,
displacing Mexico’s Carlos Slim, who slips to No. 4.
Slim’s fortune fell by $27.1bn to $50bn in the past
year, as shares of his telecom business, América
Móvil, tumbled.
Mark Zuckerberg had the best year of all the
billionaires. The 31-year-old added $11.2bn to his
fortune and moved up to No. 6 from 16. He and
Amazon’s Jeff Bezos both make their first
appearance in the top 10 of Forbes annual ranking
of the world’s wealthiest.

Members of Republican Party Slams their Own.

We are aware of the recent roar of Donald Trump during his campaign trips. I can only point out that it is not far from the so called Nigeria politics we often criticize. The United States of America Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has come under fire from rivals Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz at a debate as establishment Republicans tried to muster some unity behind a
last-ditch anti-Trump effort.
The debate began on Thursday night in Detroit as a
free-for-all fracas with tension mounting over
Trump’s ascendancy and his drive to become the presumptive nominee should he win nominating
contests in Florida and Ohio on March 15.
At centre stage, Trump defended himself from criticism earlier in the day from 2012 Republican
nominee Mitt Romney and faced further questions about his record as a businessman at the debate.
Rubio, a US senator from Florida, pressed Trump on why he does not bring his clothing-making operations to the US from China and Mexico if he is so interested in bring jobs home, a central tenet of his unconventional campaign.
“This little guy has lied so much about my record,”
Trump responded, adding that he had begun bringing some clothing operations home from overseas.
But Rubio persisted: “The answer is he’s not going to do it … The reason he makes it in China and
Mexico is because he can make more money on it.”
“Don’t worry about it, little Marco, I will,” Trump said dismissively.
“Well, let’s hear it, big Donald,” Rubio responded.
“Look at these hands,” Trump said, flashing his two hands to the crowd. To the suggestion that he
might be small elsewhere, Trump said: “I guarantee
you there is no problem.”
Support for Clinton
Cruz, a US senator from Texas, suggested Trump
would be the wrong candidate to send into battle
against Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton
because he has supported her financially in the
past.
“Actually it was for business,” Trump replied. “Let
me tell you something, Ted, the last person that
Hillary Clinton wants to face is Donald Trump.”
Trump was joined on stage at the Fox Theatre by
his three remaining rivals, Rubio, Cruz and Ohio
Governor John Kasich.
It is a far smaller field than the 17 Republican
candidates that began the race for the 2016 presidential nomination, but one that is still splintered between the incendiary New York
businessman and three experienced politicians.
The debate was the candidates’ first face-to-face
gathering since Super Tuesday nominating contests
this week gave extra momentum to Trump but did
not knock out his rivals.
Mainstream figures in the party are seeking a
strategy to halt Trump’s march to the nomination
for the November 8 election to succeed Democratic
President Barack Obama.
Some party leaders and donors are critical of Trump’s positions on trade and immigration,
including his calls to build a wall between the US
and Mexico, deport 11 million illegal immigrants and temporarily bar Muslims from entering the country.
At the debate, Trump, 69, was questioned for the
first time since last year by Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, who angered him with her questioning at the Republicans’ first debate on August 6, prompting him to cancel participation in a debate in Iowa in January, a move that appeared
to cost him some votes.
Despite the tension, towards the end of the debate, all candidates – including Trump – vowed
to support whomever the presidential nominee
would be.
The debate took place hours after 2012 Republican
nominee Romney gave a blistering speech about
the dangers of choosing Trump. He called Trump a
phony and a fraud who has failed in many business
ventures despite his touted success.
The Detroit debate was one more opportunity for
Rubio and Cruz to try to slow Trump’s momentum.
They are the last two anti-Trump candidates
standing in what has been a bruising nomination
battle. Kasich has largely steered clear of the anti-
Trump effort and tried to remain above the fray.
Rubio went on the attack against Trump at the last
debate on February 25 and has tried to establish
himself as the main Trump alternative by labeling
him as a “con artist” who has escaped serious
vetting by a news media fixated on his star power
and brash rhetoric.

An Alumni of UNN Jailed for Seven years.

Clara Onah, who is 35 years old was Wednesday sentenced to seven years in prison  by the Federal
High Court, Lagos, for selling fake drugs.
Onah, from Enugu State, was charged by the National Agency for Food, Drugs, Administration
and Control (NAFDAC) on behalf of the Federal Government.
A graduate of Microbiology of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a post-graduate student of
Mass Communication, Onah resides at No 12,
Mosalashi St., Alagbado Lagos.
She was arraigned on February 15 and pleaded
guilty to a five-count charge bordering on
possession and sale of fake drugs, offences
committed on January 26.
The prosecutor Mr. Shamaki Umar had told the
court that the accused sold fake brand of 200 mg of
Amazon Amagyl Metronidazole tablets to members
of the public.
The accused was remanded in prison pending the
review of facts.
Wednesday, Umar reviewed the facts of the case
and presented the laboratory analysis of the
confiscated drugs which showed that they were
fake and contained 20 rather than 200 milligrams
The convict’s counsel Mr. Chinedu Moore in his
allocutus pleaded for leniency and urged the court
to temper justice with mercy. He submitted that
apart from the fact that she was sick, she was also
a first time offender who did not have the intent
to manufacture or sell fake drugs.

Meet Yunusa (Who adopted 14 years old Ese)as his Father claims he has not committed any criminal offence.

Alhaji Dahiru Bala (55), father of 25-years old Inuwa Dahiru Bala (otherwise known as Yunusa aka
Yellow) who abducted 14-year old Ese Rita Oruru spoke from Tofa, his village in Kura Local
Government Area of Kano state, Wednesday,
insisting that his son didn't commit any crime and
should be set free.
Alhaji Bala told reporters who travelled from Kano to Tofa village that Ese voluntarily followed his son out of love and
affection for his dear son.
“The girl fell in love with my son and followed my
son. Let them release my son because he has not
committed any crime by following his heart,” he
added.
However, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman (50), Dagaci Tofa
(Village Head of Tofa) faulted Inuwa’s action for
keeping the girl after the instruction of the Emir
of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad 11, describing
the action as unIslamic.
Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman also gave an account how the girl was converted to Islam and was taken
to the Emir of Kano for endorsement, but added
that the Emir refused to endorse the marriage
because the girl (Ese) in question was a teenager and could not decide for herself without the
consent of her parents.
According to the Village Head of Tofa town: “What I
know about the story is that there was a time that
boy, Inuwa Dahiru Bala, a native of this village,
came with the girl in question whom I learnt her
name is Ese Oruru. They came here sometime last
year; and Inuwa brought her to me.
“When he told me what he wanted to do—that is,
getting married to the girl; I told him I don’t have
the power to join them as husband and wife. So, I
decided to take them to the Hakimi (District
Head) of Tofa.
“The Hakimi took the issue to the Liman (Islamic
scholar) of our village where the conversion of the
girl from Christianity to Islam was performed. From
there, we headed straight to the Emir’s Palace to
intimate him on the development; but unfortunately, the Emir was not around at that
time. We met the then Wambai Kano (Abbas
Sanusi, now Galadiman Kano).
“The Wambai Kano instructed us to take them to
Sharia’ah Commission; so, at Sharia’ah
Commission, the issue was further discussed—the
parents of the girl were invited to Sharia’ah
Commission. The parents wanted to take the girl
back to Bayelsa, but they could not.
“Then, the next day being a Friday, we went back
to the Emir’s Palace and we were asked to come
back on Monday (after the weekend). When we
came back to the Emir’s Palace that Monday, we
waited a long time for representatives from the
Sharia’ah Commission, but they delayed us to the
extent that the Emir, Sanusi Muhammad 11, got
tired and left for other official engagements.
“So, when the Emir left, the Police who came along
with the parents of the girl had no choice than to
leave for other official duties. However, the Emir
delegated power to Wambai Kano who spoke on
behalf of the Emirate Council and informed us that
the girl being less than 16 years of age should be
given out for marriage without the consent of her
parents.
“Having been informed on the position of the
Emirate Council on the issue, Wambai Kano gave us
a letter stating the position of the Emirate Council
and instructed us to deliver it to the Assistant
Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone
1, including Inuwa and the girl. We delivered the
letter to the AIG and gave him a message that the
Emir instructed that the girl should be repatriated
to Bayelsa where her parents lives. So, after
delivering the letter and the two children to the
AIG, that was where I stopped playing any role,
believing that the AIG will handle the matter as
instructed by the Emir.
“However, I must say that Tofa people are not
happy with this development and we condemn the
action of our son, Inuwa. Now, I must tell you that
it was wrong for Inuwa to have brought the girl
back to this village after the Emir of Kano has
given his verdict that the girl be repatriated back
to her people. It is not in our character to do this
kind of thing.
“So, I must declare that Inuwa’s character was
unIslamic and totally unacceptable by the people of
Tofa village who have high regard to our religion,
constituted authorities and the revered throne of
Sarkin Kano, Sanusi Muhammad 11. Inuwa has
cheated the people of Tofa; he has smeared our
name and the name of Kano state, even that of
Nigeria.
“My advice to the young ones is that whenever
they want to get married from any part of the
country, they should properly follow the channels,
tradition, customs and norms of the people. The
reunion of the girl with the parents is the best
option in this issue and Tofa people align
themselves with this decision, because since the
Emir’s verdict on the issue, all that we have been
fighting for is that the girl be returned back to her
parents.”
It was also gathered that Inuwa Dahiru Bala (25)
who was born and brought up in Tofa village, Kano state,
traveled to Bayelsa state in search of job.

Federal Government Re-considering the bringing back Paper based Test for UTME.

Just two years after the Joint Admission and
Matriculation Board (JAMB), phased out paper and
pencil examination mode, indications have
emerged that the Federal Government might
consider the re-introduction of the mode in the
conduct of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination (UTME).
The reversal may be informed by the need to
carter for the interest of vast number of
candidates who are not computer literate and
living in remote locations but had to comply with the Computer- Based Test (CBT).
Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, gave
this indication yesterday in Abuja when he visited
some centres in the FCT to monitor the ongoing
UTME being conducted by JAMB.
Adamu, however, said he was satisfied with the
conduct of the CBT mode of the examination so far, noting that he was glad the Board has addressed most of his concerns and other Nigerians.
Meanwhile, Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of
JAMB, Professor Dibu Ojerinde, has disclosed that
over 200,000 candidates results have been released
since the examination commenced on Saturday.
He said candidates, who had sat for the examination, were at liberty to visit the website
and source their results.
More than 1.85million applied to take the
examination, nationwide in 2016.
The figures however, recorded a slight increase of
113,673 applicants (1.47million) candidates who
applied for the examination in 2015.
Well, it seems the complaints is more than the praise.

Controversial Tweets From Linda Ikeji.

Linda Ikeji has stepped on a lot of toes andof recent have suffered a lot from bloggers who have used all these as opportunity to gain traffic by publishing false information concerning those issues.
Also as a genuinely successful young black woman, there is
some amount of hate that follows. She fanned the flames
of the haters with some of her recent comments about
her wealth in the infamous fake Hermes brouhaha.
Now some dubious fellows seeking traffic/attention or
just courting plain controversy have created some
photoshopped Twitter screenshots that attempt to depict
Linda Ikeji mouthing off about her material possessions
and saying she can buy any man.
The creators of the hoax were also mean enough to share
an unflattering old photo of Linda with their photoshop
creation. It has been confirmed false.

He further said, that the Project is ongoing and more Corps Members and even undergraduates keep indicating their interest in most parts of the country and it is a project that will continue because God has placed this great vision in his heart and he has already sacrificed a lot, more so a lot of persons who have seen light in this God given vision has sacrificed too to make sure the lives of our poor children in the streets are affected positively.
Mr. Kingsley in words said that "he was glad that he was acknowledged and though he did it out of his aim  to affect the common child, which also follows the mission of Life Finders Dormitorio and He made it known whatever heights #LFD has and will attain, it will always be with the #BEYOWI anytime the need arises  because it a purposeful organisation just like #LFD and whatever #LFD has done or will do all began with #BEYOWI and will always be proud to associate himself with #BEYOWI."
Once again we congratulate you Sir, for your recent achievement.

Presidency: N5,000 for poor Nigerians still stands.

The Presidency who recently made it known to Nigerians that there was never a time a promise was made on giving the unemployed graduates N5,000 but made know the plans which is far more than the N5,000 because it now a case of teaching the youths how to fish instead of the giving them fish.
The Presidency on Monday night insisted that the
N5,000 stipend promised for the vulnerable and
poor Nigerians still stands.
President Muhammadu Buhari was claimed to have
gone back on the promise while speaking to the
Nigerian community in Saudi Arabia last week when he went for lesser Hajj.
But the Senior Special Assistant on Media andPublicity, Laolu Akande, while speaking to State
House correspondents said that the 2016 Budget which has been submitted to the National Assembly has made an allocation of half a trillion naira for such social investment.
He also pointed out that President Muhammadu Buhari never promised to pay unemployed
graduates N5,000.
He said: “The budget for 2016 which has been submitted to the National Assembly has made an
allocation of half a trillion naira, the first time in
the history of this country’s budget where you
have that huge chunk of money allocated for social
investment.
“In that 500 billion naira which is half a trillion naira, close to about 20 per cent of the entire
budget, there are six social safety net programmes.
And one of them is the conditional cash transfer
where government is going to pay N5,000 monthly
to the vulnerable and extremely poor Nigerians.
That promise stands.
“The President never promised to pay unemployed
graduates N5,000; the President never made that
promise and the government never made that claim
that it will pay N5,000 to unemployed graduates.
“The programme for unemployed graduates is the
direct creation of half a million teaching jobs so
that they will be trained; 500,000 unemployed
graduates will be trained to teach and they will be
deployed to teach, while they are looking for their
career paths or jobs. That still stands.
“In addition to that, there is also a scheme to train
370,000 non-graduate youth for skill acquisition and vocational training. During the time of that
training, they will also be paid. So the President did not say that he would be giving unemployed
graduates N5,000.” He said.
Continuing, Laolu said: “The N5,000 monthly which
is already in the budget is for the vulnerable Nigerians and the extremely poor, and this year by
the grace of God, once the budget is okay , one
million extremely poor Nigerians will receive N5,000 monthly.
Nigerians are glad to have a government who have decided to remember the poor.
