Carlos Queiroz likely to Coach Super Eagles

Carlos Queiroz is no more a stranger in Coaching on
a world stage, having stood by Alex Ferguson at
Manchester United for many seasons before going on
to become Portugese coach for couple of years.
The recent showing at the World Cup with his latest
team Iran, has attracted the football governing body
in Nigeria football federation, NFF, as they plan for
the future.
According to hints from Nigeria camp at the World
Cup, NFF big wigs were said to be very impressed
by the quality of Queiroz coaching credentials and
they had showed interest in the Portuguese coach.
Speaking the mind of the football house, was one of
the board member, Sulaiman Kwande revealed that
they were really impressed with the manner he had
structured a team that does not boast of any world
class player.
The man who is also a member of the House of
Representatives expressed disgust with the way the
Super Eagles have played at the World Cup so far,
declaring that despite the victory over Bosnia, he’s
not impressed with their performance.
“Yes, we beat Bosnia and we are the African
Champions, and they have lifted the hope of Nigerians
so high in the past two years and only for them to
come and put us under serious pressure. You could
see that there was something wrong with the team.
“ Our first two games were not like World Cup
games. I am not saying we must win but look at the
way Ghana played, they were down against a big side
like Germany and they came up. Look at Iran for
God sake, they took Argentina to the last minute, I
mean what does that say?
“You have to see your player s with that kind of
commitment. See the way your players were falling
down in their match against Bosnia. I did not
understand what was going on, I was sitting down and
I had to go to the bathroom about ten times. I mean
there must be some kind of seriousness and pride
playing for your country. I do not know what is wrong
with the players, but I think it‘s time they know that
a lot is on their shoulders.
“Nigeria is going through difficult times believe it or
not ,and I can tell you that this is the one time that
Nigerians are united because of football. At least let
them make this period good period for us. Kwande
said.
