Three months before her wedding day, Louise Jackson booked into a salon for a set of eyelash extensions.

This is a process where individual synthetic lashes are glued onto your own, promising a lash- boosting effect lasting up to six weeks.

Louise had never had the treatment before, but this was a trial run for the longer, fuller lashes she hoped would add a bit of glamour to her big day.

The salon she visited in Gloucester specialised in these kinds of extensions and Louise was excited as she lay back waiting for the therapist to work her magic.

‘After half an hour she told me to open my eyes and look in the mirror,’ says Louise, 28, a hairdresser from Bexley, Kent.

‘But I couldn’t – they were stuck together. I told her and she said: “I’ll just get some tweezers.”

‘I thought that a couple of the lashes  must have got stuck, but as she prised my eyes apart I could feel my skin being pulled – my eyelids were stuck together.

‘I screamed with the pain. When she finally prised my eyes open, I looked in the mirror and could see that dozens of my own lashes had been pulled out in the process.

‘There were gaps on the upper and lower lids.

‘I started crying and felt as if I was having a panic attack. I refused to pay and left in flood of tears, with the glue still burning my eyes.’

Louise phoned a beautician friend: ‘She told me to try to remove the glue and false lashes with baby oil, but they didn’t budge. My eyes just got more sore and even puffier.’

In desperation, Louise – now married to Mark, who works for Royal Mail – went to the A&E department at Stroud General Hospital. Doctors were shocked by what they saw.

‘They told me it looked as if the salon had used super-glue, but they couldn’t take it off because they said further chemicals would irritate my eyes even more.

‘They told me my eyeball had been scratched by the tweezers, but all I could do was wait for the lashes to fall out and for my eyes to calm down. They said it would take a couple of weeks.

‘I was so upset and worried that they wouldn’t get better before my wedding.  I picked off the lashes and glue, bit by bit, every day for the next week. It was agony,’ she says.

‘Even though the salon specialised in brows and lashes, I don’t think the therapist had a clue what she was doing. Friends said I should take legal action, but I couldn’t face it. I have since found out the salon closed. I’m not surprised.’

Louise’s case is extreme, but it is far from unique, according to an investigation published in the magazine Consumer Reports last month.

It found that the use of eyelash extensions can cause a host of problems, including eye infections and loss of the natural lashes.

The glue used to attach the lashes often contains formaldehyde or Latex, which can cause allergic reactions, including swelling, blisters, pain and itching. What’s more, repeated use or bad applications of the extensions can cause natural lashes to fall out – and even stop growing altogether.

Yet women cannot get enough of the treatment, which is supposed to leave them with full, long lashes, eradicating the need for mascara.

One website claims it was taken in India, where the mighty snake swallowed a sleeping drunkard.

Another version goes that the snake swallowed a woman in Durban North, South Africa, this summer, and that the picture was taken by a reporter.

The picture has also been claimed to have been taken in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Guyana, South America.

There have also been stories that the snake was found in game reserve before eating its rescuer.

Many others, including the website Hoax Slayer, have claimed the photograph is fake.

A Goat Delivers Human like Kid.

A mysterious occurrence recorded in the rural community of Olori Oko near Ogotun Ekiti in Ekiti South-West Local Government of Ekiti State has left mouths opened in surprise as goat allegedly gave birth to a strange creature.

Olori- Oko, a farm hu thy stead dominated by people of Ede and Modakeke in Osun State is about six kilometres to Ogotun Ekiti and three kilometres away from Ikeji Arakeji in Osun State, with about 500 residents, witnessed a huge, bewildered crowd that stormed tor, Daniel Odedele, resident in the community had to intervene by forcing the baby out of the goat’s private part when it was apparent that it could not deliver itunaided.

“Strangely, the kid  had human hairs on its head  and female private part similar to that of human being. Then people started raising alarm,” he said.

The kid was said to have survived for about one and a half hours before it died.

According to the eyewitness, the incident have been formally reported to the Ologotun of Ogotun Ekiti , Oba Samuel Oyebade, adding that the residents would take a step further by making necessary sacrifice and appeasements to gods of the land to forestall calamity from befalling them as a result of the strange birth.

JUAN MATA sentenced to Bench.

Mata benchJose Mourinho has admitted that Juan Mata is likely to continue on the bench, because he cannot pick “12, 13 or 14″ players.

The Spaniard is not one of the manager’s preference to start behind the striker, as Mourinho readily picks Oscar, Hazard and even Schurrle ahead of the former Valencia man.

The 25-year-old has been restricted to eight appearances this season and has scored one goal. The Portuguese coach says Mata’s attitude is good, but there is nothing he can do.

A 22 year old man kills boss .

A man in Lagos has stabbed his boss to to death for trying to rape him.

According to reports, the man crept into his bedroom at night to commit the allege rape but was met with resistance from his victim who overpowered him and stabbed him in the neck.

The Punch metro reports:

A 22-year-old man, Eji Emmanuel, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for the alleged murder of a 39-year-old trader, Sylvanus Okoye.

According to the police, the suspect stabbed the deceased to death at his home on Ezemegbu Drive, Okota in August.

The suspect, however, explained that he killed the deceased in self-defence.

He alleged that on the day of the incident, Okoye had attempted to rape him.

Explaining the events that culminated in Okoye’s death, the suspect said he was a dancer and was lured to Lagos by a friend, Chukwudi, under the guise of doing music business only for the friend to introduce him to homosexuality.

He said he had gone to report the matter to his friend’s boss but his friend’s boss raped him twice and he reported the matter at the FESTAC Police Division.

He said the matter was transferred to the Zone 2 Police Command and the case was turned against him after which he spent two weeks in detention.

He said he had approached Okoye, who he considered an Igbo leader in the state, to help him with money to return to Anambra State when Okoye also attempted to rape him.

He said, “I went along with a relative to report the matter to Okoye and he gave my friend and I N5,000 and shirts. He  told us not to worry, so we slept over at his house. At midnight, however, Okoye came to my room and attempted to have sex with me but I refused him.

“My relative later told me that Okoye had sex with him in the parlour that same night. We left in the morning and returned to Anambra State. From there, I went to Abuja where I remained for four months. However, one day, Okoye called me that he had a business deal and invited me to come to Lagos.

“I told Okoye that I would not engage in any act of homosexuality and he agreed.”

The suspect said when he returned to Lagos, the deceased said he wanted to open a bar in the area and wanted him to manage the business.

He said he passed the night at the deceased’s home, but at midnight, the deceased crept into his room and attempted to make love to him.

He said, “In the evening, Okoye served me with bread, butter and tea in my room. Around 3.30am, he crept into my room and wanted to sleep with me, but I refused him.

“Okoye was a big man so he attempted to overpower me, but I picked up the bread knife that was still left in the room and stabbed him in the neck, but he did not die.

“I picked up a flexible iron and bound it round his neck and locked him inside the room.

“When it was 6am, I stepped out of the house and gave the key to one woman beside the gate and fled.”

PUNCH Metro had reported on August 16, 2013, that Okoye was found murdered in his home two weeks after he was last seen by neighbours.

It was learnt that following the discovery, the security guard and the woman whom the suspect handed the key to were arrested by detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.

PUNCH Metro learnt that after three months, detectives were able to locate the suspect in Anambra State.

A police detective said, “The security guard told us that he could identify the suspect if he saw him.

“In the course of investigation, we obtained call logs from Okoye’s phone and we learnt that the suspect had used Okoye’s phone to call his girlfriend in Anambra State shortly after killing Okoye.

“We travelled to Anambra State and we were able to locate the suspect who was even wearing the deceased’s clothes.”

The suspect, however, insisted that he was not a killer but a victim of circumstance.

He said, “My father and my brother are dead. I am the only child of my mother. Who will take care of her if I am sent to prison?

“I am not a homosexual but I was used. I tried for several months to impregnate my girlfriend but was not successful. I feel they have stolen my virtues.”

Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, confirmed Emmanuel’s arrest to our correspondent on the telephone.

Braide added that the police were still working to establish it the the victim was a homosexual or not as alleged by the suspect.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced a merger with the Abubakar Baraje-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, tagged ‘New PDP’
The merger was announced at the end of a meeting at the Kano Governors Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday.
Mr. Baraje read the terse communique to journalists at about 11.46 a.m. The merger means the APC now has its 11 governors and the seven governors who are members of the New PDP; making a total of 18 state governors. The seven New PDP governors were expected to have a last meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan before taking a decision. The meeting is yet to be held.

From the look of the current situation now the FG  and ASUU are yet to agree to conclude concerning the lingering strike.
The Federal Government, yesterday, condemned the new conditions which Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, insists must be met before the five-month old strike could be called off.

The three conditions were payment of four months salaries, which accumulated during the period of the strike; immediate implementation of the N1.2 trillion offered by the government to public universities, starting with the release of N100 billion this year and the balance of N1.1 trillion to be spread over five years from 2014.

Dr. Conrad Murray in his first interview since being released from prison after spending two years for the death of Michael Jackson has said they were so close he “held his penis every night.”
In the bizarre, rambling interview, the doctor convicted of Jackson’s death painted a sad picture of The King of Pop’s final days as a physically broken 50-year-old filled with dread and self-doubt.
Jackson barely had control of his bodily functions, according to Murray.
“He wore dark trousers all the time because after he went to the toilet he would drip for hours,” he told The Daily Mail.
“You want to know how close Michael and I were? I held his penis every night. I had to put a condom catheter on him because Michael dripped urine. He had a loss of sensation and was incontinent.”
The ex-physician goes on to say, “Michael didn’t know how to put a condom on, so I had to do it for him.”
Murray was found guilty of injecting the singer with an overdose of Propofol that killed him on June 25, 2009. He was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and spent nearly two years in jail.
Murray went on to say in the interview that Jackson gave himself lethal doses of anesthesia after pleading for more drugs, and said that he was not responsible for his overdose.
“I did not kill Michael Jackson. He was a drug addict,” Murray said. “Michael Jackson accidentally killed Michael Jackson.”
“I believe he woke up, got hold of his own stash of propofol and injected himself. He did it too quickly and went into cardiac arrest.”

ASUU is finally Ready to end the on going Strike.

Well , with our President finally back from London I think there is great hope concerning the over four months old strike. Here is what Daily Post has to say: ASUU agrees to suspend strike, states three conditions are met.

According to reports from the Nigerian Eye, Nigerian university lecturers have agreed to end the five-month old strike, if the federal government says yes to three of it conditions.

These conditions will be made known to President Goodluck Jonathan today and if all parties come to agreement, the strike will be called off.

ASUU has forbidden its local chapters and zonal chairman from talking to the media, until the end of the session. But a source, who was part of the ASUU session, which was held at Mambayya House in Kano, revealed the conditions as:

•Commitment from the President that any review or reconsideration or renegotiation of the 2009 Agreement will not substantially affect the pact which is the cause of the ongoing strike;

•Immediate payment of all outstanding salary arrears and allowances of varsity teachers without victimization; and

•A written commitment from the President that the Federal Government will commit N225billion annually to the funding of universities for the next four years.

There is a fourth condition, which is said to be “personal” to ASUU.

The source said: “Our leaders are meeting with the President on Monday to table these conditions. Once the President accepts these three terms, the strike will be called off.

“In principle, members voted about 60-40 per cent to call off the strike, but they added a caveat – that ASUU leaders should extract a commitment (signed and sealed) from the President.”

It became imperative for ASUU to makes these demands, as it became obvious that the FG wanted the 2009 Agreement to be renegotiated.

“If ASUU had accepted to renegotiate the entire Agreement , it means there will be no basis for the ongoing strike. The worst that can happen is either having the abridged version of the 2009 Agreement or a phased implementation of the document,” the source added.

A 4 year old beaten to death for being Stubborn.

A teacher in Ondo has been apprehended by police in the state after reports emerged that he had beaten a young pupil to death.

Alade Adebayo, a primary school teacher, is said to have flogged 4-year-old Elizabeth Wanogha until she fell into a coma and subsequently died.

The incident occurred at the Falaye Memorial Nursery and Primary School, located in the Fanibi area of Akure, the state capital.

President who turned 56 on Wednesday  is ill . Abati didn't made known the nature of the sickness nor the duration of the resting period as he was advised by the doctors to take a rest.
