Presidency: N5,000 for poor Nigerians still stands.
The Presidency who recently made it known to Nigerians that there was never a time a promise was made on giving the unemployed graduates N5,000 but made know the plans which is far more than the N5,000 because it now a case of teaching the youths how to fish instead of the giving them fish.
The Presidency on Monday night insisted that the
N5,000 stipend promised for the vulnerable and
poor Nigerians still stands.
President Muhammadu Buhari was claimed to have
gone back on the promise while speaking to the
Nigerian community in Saudi Arabia last week when he went for lesser Hajj.
But the Senior Special Assistant on Media andPublicity, Laolu Akande, while speaking to State
House correspondents said that the 2016 Budget which has been submitted to the National Assembly has made an allocation of half a trillion naira for such social investment.
He also pointed out that President Muhammadu Buhari never promised to pay unemployed
graduates N5,000.
He said: “The budget for 2016 which has been submitted to the National Assembly has made an
allocation of half a trillion naira, the first time in
the history of this country’s budget where you
have that huge chunk of money allocated for social
investment.
“In that 500 billion naira which is half a trillion naira, close to about 20 per cent of the entire
budget, there are six social safety net programmes.
And one of them is the conditional cash transfer
where government is going to pay N5,000 monthly
to the vulnerable and extremely poor Nigerians.
That promise stands.
“The President never promised to pay unemployed
graduates N5,000; the President never made that
promise and the government never made that claim
that it will pay N5,000 to unemployed graduates.
“The programme for unemployed graduates is the
direct creation of half a million teaching jobs so
that they will be trained; 500,000 unemployed
graduates will be trained to teach and they will be
deployed to teach, while they are looking for their
career paths or jobs. That still stands.
“In addition to that, there is also a scheme to train
370,000 non-graduate youth for skill acquisition and vocational training. During the time of that
training, they will also be paid. So the President did not say that he would be giving unemployed
graduates N5,000.” He said.
Continuing, Laolu said: “The N5,000 monthly which
is already in the budget is for the vulnerable Nigerians and the extremely poor, and this year by
the grace of God, once the budget is okay , one
million extremely poor Nigerians will receive N5,000 monthly.
Nigerians are glad to have a government who have decided to remember the poor.
Government: Ondo State gives Car loans to workers.
It was a moment of celebration as the Governor Mimiko of Ondo State gave about 659 workers N256 million car loan.
The workers who received their cheques at the weekend were advised by the state government to
ensure judicious use of the loan and refrain from
spending it on frivolities
The Head of Service, Toyin Akinkuotu, who gave
the advice said the Olusegun Mimiko-led
administration is committed to the welfare of its
workers despite the unpalatable economic situation of the nation.
Energy: Judge renews order barring electricity tariff hike
The battle on the increase in Electricity tariff seems to have been lingering as Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday renewed the order barring the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC)
from increasing electricity tariff.
He said the order that parties maintain status quo
ante bellum subsists.
“The order that the parties in this suit should
maintain the status quo ante bellum remains valid
and binding until it is set aside by a court of competent jurisdiction,” Justice Idris held.
He spoke while delivering ruling on a contempt proceedings initiated by activist-lawyer, Toluwani Adebiyi, against NERC chairman and Chief Executives of Distribution Companies (DISCOs).
Justice Idris first made the order last May, but while the suit was pending, NERC announced the
tariff hike.
Ruling, Justice Idris agreed with the respondents
and held that Adebiyi issued Form 49 (a formal
application for committal to prison of a person who refuses to obey an order) without properly
serving the alleged contemnors with the Form 48.
He said: “It is clear, in this case, that the purported issuance of the Form 49 on the
defendants by the plaintiff without prior and
proper service of the Form 48 is premature.
“The issuance of Form 49 when the court is yet to
hear and determine the application of the plaintiff
for leave to serve Form 48 is also inappropriate.
“In the circumstances, I hold that the defendants’
objections have merit. The Form 49 and the
motion for order for committal issued by the
plaintiff against the defendants are hereby set
aside. The court has set aside the contempt
application due to fundamental procedural
irregularities.”
Justice Idris, however, said NERC and the DISCOs
are still liable to be held in contempt should they
continue to violate the order.
Security: Abducted 14 year old Ese from Bayesla state have been Released.
taken from her home in Opolo, Bayelsa State, to Kano and married off six months ago has been
released.
It was learnt that she was freed upon the intervention of the Inspector-General of Police, Mr.
Solomon Arase, on Monday.
Arase had earlier in the day claimed that he could not secure Oruru’s release without the help of the
Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, as he was said to be away on lesser hajj in Saudi Arabia.
However, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce representing
Bayelsa East had threatened to report the IGP to the United Nations if he failed to immediately
secure the abducted teenager’s release.
He also got in touch with Sanusi and demanded the
immediate release of the girl, who wqs abducted
in August 2015 by one Yunusa.
Based on pressure from Nigerians, Sanusi then directed the Kano State Sharia Commission to
secure Oruru’s release.
From what just happened concerning Ese's case it is obvious Nigerians aren't serious about the Chibok girls because if they are, they would have been brought back long ago.
Security: A Togolese Lady Kidnaps a Baby in Lagos
It seems kidnapping has gone international as a Togolese woman has been accused of kidnapping
a month-old-baby at the Okokomaiko area of Ojo
Local Government Area of Lagos State. This is a case of your best friend could be your worst enemy as a trusted neighbour was the one who assisted majorly in the kidnap.
The suspect was alleged to have conspired with one
Sekinat, also a Togolese, to steal the baby,
Mustapha Ibrahim.
Sekinat, source said, lives in the same compound with the parents of Ibrahim at 14, Ago Street,
Okokomaiko.
The boys’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ganiyu Ibrahim,
said they were still in shock over the betrayal of trust.
Sekinat has lived in the same compound with the
Ibrahims for over five years.
In the course of those years, she had become very
close to the couple.
It was gathered that a day before the kidnap,
Sekinat had introduced the suspect to the parents
of the baby as her elder sister.
This prompted the parents of the baby to allow the
alleged kidnapper to have a feel of their baby.
The suspect kidnapped the baby on February 20 about 3pm, while the baby’s mother was having her bath.
Thank God for the Nigeria police force who was able to recover the baby.

Government:Nigerian Removes about 24,000 Ghost workers.
The Nigerian government has removed close to 24,000
workers from its payroll after an audit revealed they did
not exist, the Finance Ministry has said.
The move has enabled a monthly saving of around $11,5m
(£8m).
The audit is part of an anti-corruption campaign by
President Muhammadu Buhari, who took power last year.
Corruption and mismanagement have long been a
challenge to Nigeria’s growth, and the government has
promised to cut costs to face an economic slowdown.
Nigeria is Africa’s biggest economy and the continent’s
top oil producer, and its finances are under strain due to
the recent collapse in oil prices.
The country has also faced rising inflation, a stock market
slump and the slowest pace of economic growth in more
than a decade.
The audit started in December used biometric data and a
bank verification number to identify holders of bank
accounts into which salaries were being paid, Reuters
news agency reports.
This process allowed the identification of some workers
who were receiving a salary that did not correspond to
the names linked to the bank accounts.
It also revealed that some employees were receiving
salaries from multiple sources.
Some 23,846 non-existent workers were removed from the
payroll, an adviser to the finance minister was quoted by
Reuters as saying.
Periodic checks and electronic audit techniques will be
periodically carried out to prevent new frauds, the
ministry said.
Officials have said the savings resulted from the anti-
corruption measures will help the country tackle its crisis
and prevent job cuts.
Well, i hope the Government will also have plans to create more jobs too for those interested.

THE RULES OF CHANGE PART 3 (CHANGE IS POSSIBLE).
You are welcome once again to our RULES OF CHANGE SERIES.This week we will be looking at the Possibility of Change.
Change is possible because if you decided not to change that alone is change because if you decided leave water in a bowl without changing it for a long time it will start smelling; that's what happens when people decide not to change. The truth i want you to know is that God has finished making you according to Genesis 1:31" And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." So stop all these slogan that people make these days saying" I know God will do it" as have seen God that said He saw everything that He made and that includes you and I. Our future and plans are that what He made. Your dreams that you are yet to achieve have been made already by God. All God wants you to do is for you to start living that life He has created you to live . He is constantly watching you according to "Isaiah 49:16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." So if we are aware that He is constantly watching us lets not disappoint Him.
So if you have realized that you need a change because you feel you are not living up to expectation concerning God's purpose for your life, I want you to know that it is not too late to start making that change you desire in God's will because all has been done already it is left you to take your share and start living a purposeful life. Don't let your age discourage you after all Abraham made a decision along the will of God when he was 75 years old. Don't let past sins hamper you from deciding; that's the reason our Lord Jesus died for you. All you need to do just confess your sins according to "Romans 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." So just confess and forsake them and start all over again. Don't let past failures hinder you. You failed doesn't make you a failure but you have just realize a another to take in doing that particular thing that is of your interest. Well, i want you to also know that you are not too young to start changing your life pattern because our Lord Jesus Christ discovered His purpose at the age of 12, Joseph at the age of 17.
So please do all you can to seek your change based on the Word of God. Always remember you have to be a Life Finder( in Jesus) to be a Life Giver( to your world). So just start it is possible because all have been made already. God bless you.

The Youngest Nobel Prize Winner
who leapt onto a crowded bus in northwestern Pakistan two years ago, then fired a bullet into
the head of Malala Yousafzai , a 15-year-old schoolgirl and outspoken activist.
That question has been answered many times since by Ms. Yousafzai herself, who survived her injuries and went on to become an impassioned advocate, global celebrity and, on Friday, the latest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize alongside the Indian child rights campaigner Kailash Satyarthi.
Yet since that decisive gunshot in October 2012, Ms. Yousafzai and her compelling story have been reshaped by a range of powerful forces, though not always, for good in ways that have left her straddling perilous fault lines of culture, politics and religion.
In Pakistan, conservatives assailed the schoolgirl as an unwitting pawn in an American-led assault.
In the West, she came to embody the excesses of violent Islam, or was recruited by campaigners to
raise money and awareness for their causes. Ms. Yousafzai, guided by her father and a public
relations team, helped to transform that image
herself, co-writing a best-selling memoir.

reacted to the rumour making the rounds that his 7-year
old marriage to his wife, Mabel has hit the rocks.
AY's reaction was coming a day after news went viral on
Wednesday, that his marriage to Mabel, who is an
interior decorator has crashed, owing to alleged domestic
violence.
He took to his Instagram page to dispel the rumour, AY
who is currently in the UK, shooting a new Television
series, “Lodgers,” described some blogs as the bringers of
bad news.
According to him, “Some blogs are, for the most part, the
bringers of bad news... and it's not entirely the bloggers
fault, bad news gets higher ratings, travels faster and
sells more than good news. The reality is that you will
continue to hear negative information from many sources
against anything that showcases your blessings and pride.
Gossip is just a tool to distract people who have nothing
better to do from feeling jealous of those few who are
still remaining in the institution called 'Celebrity
Marriage' . It lies in our will to decide whether to discard
them into the waste bin or record them into our brains!.
Well, we are happy for you since you have decided to be different and to be a good examples for other celebrities to follow.
